Guess Who's Rocking IMDb? Farzi, Guns, and Gulaabs Take the Crown as 2023's Top Indian Web Series. Oh, and Give It Up for Kohraa and Jubilee
"Storytelling in its longer, more immersive form has really caught on in India. Over the past few years, the world of web series has been buzzing with activity. Initially gaining ground a while back, the Indian web series scene really hit its stride during the pandemic. With people spending prolonged hours indoors, streaming platforms became their go-to for entertainment.
Fast forward to 2023, and talk of the town revolves around shows like 'Farzi' and 'Guns and Gulaabs.' These two not only stirred up conversations online but also clinched the top two spots on IMDb's list of 'Top 10 Most Popular Indian Web Series of 2023.'
Taking the fourth spot is the much-lauded Netflix series 'Kohrra,' where stellar performances by Suvinder Vicky and Barun Sobti have earned it critical acclaim."
"Now, let's dive into the ranking territory – snagging the fifth and sixth positions are Voot’s Asur 2 and Netflix’s Rana Naidu. Hold on, the Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh duo are not done yet – rumor has it that their show is currently brewing up a storm for its second season.
Making waves and claiming the seventh spot is the power-packed duo of Sonakshi Sinha and Vijay Varma in Dahaad, closely followed by the dynamic Dimple Kapadia leading the charge in Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo.
Bringing up the rear, the eighth and ninth spots are claimed by Hansal Mehta’s Scoop and Vikramaditya Motwane’s Jubilee. These shows are definitely giving us something to talk about!
Interestingly, the second season of Made in Heaven, despite making a splash online, didn't quite make the cut for this particular list. Even the highly promoted Kajol starrer, The Trial, couldn't secure a spot. And surprise, surprise – Scam 2003, the sequel to the widely popular Scam 1992, somehow managed to stay under the radar, missing out on a spot as well."
